It was late, about 1am. I plugged in my boat and laid down in my truck. It seemed no motels had vacancy because Hurricane Harvey created a wave of evacuees. A few minutes later, I was greeted by a sheriff's deputy and several border patrol agents.
Things didn't get better from there. The motel attendant said that there was no reservation for me. I was told to vacate the Motel's property. Not the restful night I had planned.
extremely friendly staff
from the outside it is not promising, roadside Motel, the inside is great. Perfectly clean and utilitarian. I will definitely stay here again
Very nice kitchenette near some of the cheaper fuel in the area
The town of Comstock is a nice place, and there were many friendly and helpful people in the town. Justin at J & P's Bar and Grill made a plate of brisket, long after their kitchen had closed. Considering no restaurants around Comstock were open at that time, that was a huge help. I live in a small town myself, and I appreciate the closeness of the community. I loved what I saw from the rest of Comstock.
We only stayed one night and had very little interaction with the front desk, but there were friendly enough. The rooms were very clean and beds comfortable enough. We slept just fine. We had no kitchenette and we did not shower so cannot testify to hot water, but we were very happy with the only-motel-in-town experience. Of course they had TV (Direct) and wi-fi, but we were mostly concerned with the cleanliness and were very satisfied.
easy access
The Comstock Motel called the cops on me.
Was traveling late and just happened to be in Comstock at bedtime. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in the door by the owner's son. The room was very comfortable, one of the cleanest rooms we had encountered and nicely decorated. As we were leaving the next morning, we met the Mom (owner). She was fantastic! If you need a place to stay, this is it. The is a restaurant across the street. We loved it! (your friends from NC)
The Comstock Motel gave me an experience I won't soon forget. I made a reservation for 8/25 and made arrangements to charge my boat in front of the motel, where, I was told, a power outlet and 24/7 surveillance was available. Upon my arrival, I found out that the motel had sold my room.
Clean room
Showed up with no reservation and the sign said No Vacancy, they asked me to give them some time when they would have a room ready.
I was told by an LEO that the Comstock Motel is run by nice, good people. Perhaps my experience is uncommon, and that's true. Bottom line: I hope you have a better experience at the Comstock Motel than I did.
